Network Marketing Training Prevents Gushing

In the beginning of a network marketing career, many people are so excited they tend to push their business on everyone they meet without realizing what is happening. Letting people know about your new network marketing business is not only desirable, but necessary. “Gushing” the new business all over people is a common mistake as is assuming that all people who need your product are your target market. The target market for your network marketing business are those who want it. What qualifies as “gushing” your business all over everyone you meet?

1) Talking to your friends and family only about your business. Each time a topic comes up at Thanksgiving, Christmas, or the family reunion, you cannot help but turn the conversation back to your products and business.

2) Walking up to total strangers and telling them about your business without any prompting from outside circumstances.

3) Talking about you and your business rather than asking about the person you’ve just bumped into and haven’t seen for months. Roxanne’s skin is dry and splotchy while Carol’s skin is smooth and even. Roxanne definitely needs your network marketing skin care line, but your target market may be Carol because she is more concerned about the appearance of her skin than Roxanne.

The same is true with weight loss; just because someone needs to lose 50 lbs doesn’t mean they are interested in your incredible new weight-loss program that helped you lose 20 lbs last year. I have very few truly overweight clients and none I would call obese. The people I find interested in my weight loss products and my skin care line are those who are interested in health and wellness first and foremost. They may have 10 pounds they would like to lose or are interested in having skin that is smoother and more beautiful, but their mindset is that they desire a particular result.

Remember to look for people who “want” what you have to offer in your network marketing opportunity. “Gushing” all over people will not cause them to be “interested” in your product or network marketing business.
