Did you know that many people who start an mlm business
do so without checking if the mlm product will enable them
to succeed.
The problem is that they see the income potential inherent
in the mlm system without considering if the product is
saleable on a large scale.
A major flaw in many mlm businesses is that they are built
around a product that is more expensive than a similar
product that can be purchased at a local supermarket.
Think about it, would you pay more for the same product just
so your sponsor can get a percentage? Me neither, and that
is why this type of mlm business is doomed to failure. Even
if you do manage to build a small down-line you won’t make
any money unless your group purchases products from the
business. If they can get similar products from the local
supermarket at a cheaper price then they simply won’t buy
too many products from your business and therefore you won’t
make money.
Another problem with this type of mlm opportunity is that
even after you have people below you it requires you to
frequently convince them to buy from the business otherwise
you won't make any money. Having to do this is like being a
car salesman and having to contact every former client to
convince them to drive their cars before you get a
commission. Clearly this is not working smart.
Some of the other mistakes that you might make when looking
to start an mlm business:
Limiting your options
If you start out thinking that you only have your friends as
possible members and are pinning all your hopes on them
joining your mlm business then you are certain
to fail. Does that mean that you can’t get your friends
involved? Absolutely not, however you need to start thinking
in a marketing sense and look at the product or service that
your mlm promotes and target potential customers for that
product or service. Just ask yourself - who has a problem
that this product can solve?
Doing Nothing
So many people set out to start an mlm business because they
can see the powerful leverage that the multi-level marketing
structure has and hope to build a residual income. Then
after a few months they quit and complain that it doesn’t
work. In many of these cases they have done almost no work
to either promote their opportunity or learn the skills to
help them succeed. The worst thing you can do when starting any
mlm business is to do nothing.
Failing to Ask for Help
It is surprising how people join an mlm business and then
don’t even contact their sponsor or other up-line to ask for
help or advice. Remember, mlm businesses are essentially
people businesses with people helping people so don’t be
afraid to ask for help from your sponsor because that’s what
he is there for. Rarely will you succeed without the support
and advice of your fellow team members above you so ask for
help.
How to Choose a Good MLM Business
Choose an mlm business which is based around either a
product or service that is
1) Good value for money, and
2) Either can't be purchased locally or is less expensive than
a similar product purchased locally.
While starting an mlm business can be exciting it is
important to be selective about the particular mlm you join.
By doing this you will give yourself a far better chance of
succeeding and building a rewarding residual income stream.
Providing that you understand that starting an mlm business
does require some effort on your part and also some learning
then there is no reason you won't succeed. Just do some
research to pick a good mlm business and ask for help from
your sponsor and you'll be on the road to success. Go for
it.
