The relationship you have with your list, without question! Yet, you’re probably wondering what in the world I’m even talking about. What is a list?
Your list is a collection of every person you’ve ever talked business with (whether they said ‘Yes’ or ‘No’) and all your prospects (whether you’ve contacted them - or not).
If you’re successful in building a trusting business relationship with these folks… you will become rich. Your downline will be huge. Your network marketing business won’t be tied down to one opportunity – it will literally follow you for the rest of your life; regardless of the company you’re associated with. In a word, you’ll be a success.
But, if you’re not actively managing your list – you’re literally throwing away money and setting yourself up for failure.
What about that person you talked to a month ago who sounded interested, but the timing wasn’t right for them. Or perhaps, the timing was right, but your opportunity wasn’t a good fit for them (they were looking for something else – not network marketing)… so they didn’t join you. What do you do? Delete their name and move on? NO! Why in the world would you do that?
You have their name and phone number, their email address and maybe even their mailing address. You spent time on the phone with them. You have the beginning of a relationship with them. Do you know how valuable that is to your business? Yeah, not today… but down the road:
1. That person may join you and be one of your best builders,
2. Perhaps they’ll join you in your next opportunity,
3. Maybe they’ll purchase a product of yours… one day you’ll write a book
that may interest them, or
4. Maybe someone they know will be interested in something you have to offer.
You get the point? Don’t ever delete your contacts! Manage them well. Stay in touch with them; it’s not that hard.
Keep them neatly managed in your email program (e.g. Outlook, MSN, whatever you use). Store them in groups by category like: Customers, Prospects, Not Interested, etc. Unless they specifically ask not to be contacted, stay in touch with them!
If you’re really interested in network marketing success, then I recommend taking a more sophisticated approach to managing your list – like investing in a professional autoresponder service. You don’t want to skimp on your greatest asset!
With an autoresponder service, you can pre-write emails that will continually reach out to your list at pre-defined intervals – staying in touch; providing useful information and offers that may be of interest to them. Down the road, when the timing is right – they’ll possibly join your business or buy from you – other products and/or services you may eventually offer.
Autoresponders are easy to setup and use and they pay BIG MONEY.
