There is NO stigma attached to being a "newbie" (a person who is new to Internet Marketing) everyone has to start somewhere – however there seems to a huge flashing beacon over a "newbie's" head which attracts the ‘sharks’ like flies to… you know what!

When I first starting looking for online business opportunities I was quite…not exactly proud…of my status as a ‘newbie’ but I was certainly not ashamed or contrite about being new to the ‘game’. I assumed that there would be many people who would help me and point me in the right direction if I admitted my newbie status. Oooops…!

I simply became a target (sucker) for all kinds of low-life scammers, conmen, false prophets and people who saw I was where their next quick dollar was coming from!

Being a rookie -- at ANYTHING -- will bring you to the attention of everyone else in the game. Some people will people will recognise your desire and ambition, sympathise with your lack of experience and cheer you on and support you. Some genuine people WILL advise and help you – teach you fundamentals of technique for success. Some people will even coach you and nurture you to success (at considerable cost however!) But! -- to a majority of people (unfortunately) your naivety and inexperience becomes their gain.

Think about the baseball rookie, for example -- the opposing team (the competition) if they know you’re a rookie it is in their own interests to exploit your lack of experience and they will try all sorts of underhand means to intimidate you and undermine your confidence (and self-confidence is a very powerful attribute to have). The opposition fans will laugh and deride any small error of judgement or mistake that you make, they want to make you feel uncomfortable and inadequate.

Then (much worse) there are those people who pretend to care about your lack of experience and offer you false hope with promises that if you train with this system, or use these techniques, your game will vastly improve and you will become a champion in no time…

On the other hand there are your team-mates whose own success is totally dependant upon yours. In a team sport you are only as successful as the weakest (or most inexperienced) player allows. It is, therefore, in the interests of these team-mates to ensure you get the right advice, learn the correct techniques and build up your self-confidence.

All this also applies to your online business ventures. The problem with trying to go it alone at first in Internet marketing and selling your own product or service (which you are told is where the BIG money is) is NOBODY will help you for nothing -- why would they?

Of course they will TELL you they are helping you for nothing

“…because they are fed-up of you being ripped off”… (by someone other than them!) And they will send you (often) good free advice, but only enough advice to tempt you into BUYING more.

I asked the question – why would anybody help you for nothing? -- especially if you are eventually going to gain the experience and knowledge to become their ‘opposition’ or competition. These people who claim to help you for nothing do NOT care whether you are successful or not, as long as you continue to help them to be successful.

Business and enterprise is based on buying and selling NOT giving things away (unless there is a benefit to the company or person giving this stuff away) There ARE some Internet marketers who actually DO care that you gain, at least, some success because it increases their own marketability – not because they like you or have a genuine interest in you personally.

Back to the Baseball analogy I pointed out (correctly) that it is in the interest of your team-mates to help you become successful and this is why they would be willing to genuinely help you in anyway they could, without cost or conditions or ulterior motives, team success is the motive!

MLM is the Team Sport of Internet marketing get with the right team and you WILL get all the help, support and advice that will lead to your success for FREE. With MLM you are never going to become the opposition and the more success you have, the better off others (your team-mates) will be and the more success they have, they better off you will be etc.

I am NOT suggesting MLM is the perfect business model nor am I proclaiming it to be the answer to gaining a fortune. I am simply pointing out some of the advantages of MLM. as a means of STARTING a new online business. You can gain the marketing experience you will need (for any future home business) and get genuine help and support in your initial efforts.

I AM suggesting MLM (with the right Company and sponsor) is a good ‘means to and end’. Generate some cash, gain some experience, loose your ‘newbie’ status and THEN go and build your other businesses…
